Video surveillance
There are many components involved in setting up a video surveillance system (CCTV)
Digital video recorders (DVRs) are assessed using an original assessment procedure designed by CNPP. This assessment is based on the requirements included in the Ministry of the Interior decree dated 3 August 2007.
The assessment method is used to check that decree requirements are complied with in terms of data integrity, traceability of changes made to the video bit stream and the interoperability of the data handling system.
The idea of this digital video recorder assessment is to visually compare an incoming image (viewed by the camera) and an outgoing one (recorded image) by using a reference target to ensure that the requirements concerning the integrity and format of the stored information are being checked.
This can lead to a CNPP Approval.
Other components such as video surveillance system cameras and monitors may be the subject of customised assessments.
