Welding and Cutting Permit

A welding and cutting permit is a written prevention plan for the timely completion of hot work (welding, grinding, etc.). It concerns specific tasks, with a validity period. It must be renewed each time there is a change (of operator, location, method, etc.) in the work. The permit must be signed by the person ordering the work, the qualified representative of the manager, the person responsible for ensuring safety and the operator.

A welding and cutting permit must be filled in for each hot work (cutting, grinding, etc.) by the staff of the business or by a service provider. It emphasizes the risk analysis associated with the operation and the prevention of fire or explosion hazards. The welding and cutting permit form is part of the basic requirements of insurers and is compulsory in certain cases foreseen in the regulations.
