It’s my first certification – how do I get certified? How should I organize myself and who will support me?

Welcome to the certification adventure!

You are embarking on your first certification journey and a thousand questions are running through your mind? Take a breath, smile – we are here to support you at every step of this great adventure!

Step 1: Discover the rules of the game
First, let’s learn the rules together! Each field has its own special guide, our “specific reference rules”. These valuable documents are your allies and are available on our website in the dedicated section, or we can send them directly to you. Whatever suits you best!

Step 2: Take stock
Assessing your ability to meet the rules is a big step, and we are here to help you see things more clearly! Our teams are at your disposal for any questions.

Step 3: Let’s go for it!
Do you feel ready to take on the challenge of the certification rules? Perfect! Simply submit a “certification application file” to our teams. We will examine it carefully and, if everything is in order, our experts will carry out the planned assessments. If we identify some differences in interpretation, no worries – we will come back to you so that you can make the necessary adjustments.

Step 4: Analysis and feedback
Once the assessments have been completed, we delve into the analysis of the reports (laboratory reports and audit reports) and send you our decision regarding your certification request. If the answer is negative, we will explain the reasons and, above all, the solutions to help you succeed next time.

Why certify my products? What are the associated costs and return on investment?

When designing or marketing a product, one's expertise, image, and often significant investments are at stake. Product certification is akin to climbing a mountain with your team... and planting a flag at the summit, visible from afar, proclaiming: "Our products are reliable, compliant, and high-performing. And we're not just saying it... an independent body, CNPP, confirms it."

The benefits: tangible, visible, immediate

  1. Instant market trust. Certification provides clients with the assurance that your products have been tested, proven, and validated by an independent third party, CNPP. Your clients no longer need to take your word for it. Specifiers, insurers, distributors, and partners will trust you more quickly. You naturally become a credible and essential player.

  2. Improved and more reliable products. Certification is not merely a label. Your products undergo technical and performance testing. Any potential non-conformities are detected before market launch. Your product gains in safety, robustness, and compliance. Ultimately, this leads to fewer customer returns, reduced after-sales service, and lower risks.

  3. Enhanced visibility and a significant competitive advantage.
    Being certified means:
    1. Immediately differentiating yourself from non-certified competitors.
    2. More easily meeting tenders and regulatory requirements.
    3. Securing access to certain markets (insurers, key accounts, public markets).
    4. Certification thus becomes a genuine commercial lever.

What about the cost?
Yes, certification represents an investment, but one that is controlled and proportionate to your product and activity. The cost generally includes laboratory tests, manufacturing controls/audits, and annual follow-up. We are not talking about an "additional cost" but a quality investment that reduces the risks of non-conformity, helps avoid product returns, and secures your market launch.

The return on investment is immediate and lasting:

  • Direct commercial benefits: Easier access to new markets, increased sales due to objective proof of quality, customer loyalty, and strengthening of your brand image.
  • Technical benefits: More reliable and controlled products, reduction of costs related to defects, recalls, or disputes, and continuous improvement integrated into your manufacturing process.

Often, companies discover that certification opens more doors than they initially imagined.
