The European Fire and Security Group (EFSG), currently chaired by CNPP, brings together the main certification actors of security solutions in Europe, such as the AFNOR Group, BRE, CNPP, DBI Certification A/S, IMQ, SBSC, and VdS.

In 2023, this organization intensified its efforts by participating in several European meetings and working groups. Active for many years, the EFSG aims to develop a common technical approach for the certification and assessment of security systems at the European level. In 2023, the EFSG unveiled a new identity and a new website, thus demonstrating its desire to strengthen its visibility internationally.

A common approach to prevention and protection in Europe: CFPA

CFPA Europe

Within the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe (CFPA-Europe), CNPP plays an active role in the development of standards and best practices in safety and risk prevention.

In 2023, CNPP participated in several working groups that resulted in the production of multiple guidelines, such as safety instructions for the use and charging of small and medium devices powered by lithium-ion batteries, as well as new safety guidelines for companies, published in March 2023 and approved by Insurance Europe.

Furthermore, CFPA guideline No. 7:2023/S on the development of evacuation and rescue plans for artworks and heritage buildings was revised and published in March 2023. Finally, a new guide on the basics of cybersecurity was developed. Alongside these achievements, CNPP also contributed to the development of CFPA’s strategy for the period 2024-2027, thus demonstrating its ongoing commitment to safety and risk prevention at an international level.

CNPP involvement within the Prevention Forum

Insurance Europe

CNPP is also involved in the Prevention Forum, an initiative by Insurance Europe aimed at promoting risk prevention. In 2023, CNPP hosted one of the two annual meetings. CNPP followed the work of the Forum’s expert groups on various technical subjects, thereby contributing to the development of guidelines and recommendations on safety.

Finally, CNPP proposed new discussion topics, such as cybersecurity and new energies, highlighting its commitment to anticipating emerging risks.
