Access Control

This refers to all manual or automatic means used to ensure that access to physical spaces or information systems is restricted to authorized individuals who, a priori, do not pose a threat to the organization or to themselves.

The objective of an access control system is to filter the flow of information, individuals, and sometimes vehicles seeking to enter a site, a building, or specific premises. An access control system is only one of the security components within the overall concept of comprehensive site surveillance.

CNPP publishes the APSAD D83 standard: Access Control, a technical document for system design and installation and certified product (CNPP Certified) according to its own technical spécification.
