The A2P certification is the benchmark certification guaranteeing effective protection against burglary. It provides confidence in terms of security for “locks.”
Building locks certified under A2Pare designed to resist burglary attempts, unauthorized opening, tampering, cyberattacks — and originate from manufacturing process with controlled quality.
The tests carried out in CNPP laboratories are continuously updated to adapt to the latest techniques and new tools used by burglars.
What products are covered?
The certification covers complete building locks composed of a main element (housing), a striker, a security mechanism, a triangle lock, and a complete operating assembly. This includes:
building locks with mechanical locking, incorporating mechanical security and building bolts, either mortise or surface-mounted, with single or multiple bolts, and with either integrated or add-on security devices.
building locks with mechanical locking and electronic security.
connected (smart) building locks.
What are the A2P classification levels?
The classification levels provide an appropriate response to the threat (typology of burglar, tools, time).

* The specified times (5, 10, 15 minutes) are resistance times in the laboratory, where the tests are intensive, and do not take into account real burglary constraints (such as noise), which inevitably delay the burglary attempts.
How to recognise an A2P‑certified product?
Each product reference is certified individually. Two ways to check a real A2P-certified product:
Check the marking directly on the product
Verify that the product reference appears on the official list of A2P-certified products
