CNPP is proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its flagship brand, A2P, this year. In less than half a century, A2P has become an essential benchmark for products related to intrusion and fire protection.
What is A2P certification ?
A2P certification demonstrates that products meet defined technical specifications (general requirements, accessibility levels, design, and manufacturing) and that production quality is strictly controlled.
The A2P mark It is awarded following:
- Laboratory testing;
- An audit of the manufacturing site(s).
Periodic inspections are carried out to maintain the certification. It is therefore a recognition of product performance and reliability—a guarantee of quality recognized by security professionals.
Products covered by A2P certification
A2P certification applies to:
- Security door sets, building locks, windows, and building shutters;
- Safes, high-security locks for safes, banknote neutralization systems, and technical security enclosures;
- Sprinkler cabinets and automatic gas fire-extinguishing systems.
Furthermore, through a joint certification issued with AFNOR Certification, it also covers:
- Alarm control panels and telephone transmitters;
- Detectors (infrared, shock, contact, motion, etc.);
- Audible and visual warning devices (strobes), power supplies, junction boxes, intermediate devices, and fog generators.

- 1984: Creation of A2P certification, initially for locks.
- 1985: Safes are included within the certification scope.
- 1990: Extension of the certification to electronic alarm systems and other mechanical protection products (building closures, safe locks, ATM safes, etc.).
- 2003: Security door sets are included in the certification scope.
- 2018: Revision of test protocols to include the latest advances in cybersecurity and connected technologies for alarm panels and locks.
