CNPP Hosts CFPA Week in France
CNPP hosted CFPA Week, which brought together European experts in safety and risk prevention to share knowledge and harmonize practices.
What Is CFPA Europe ?
The Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe (CFPA Europe) is an organization that brings together the main European associations specialized in fire prevention and protection, security, and natural disaster risk. Its role is to develop recommendations and good practice guides for professionals in the sector. As an active member of CFPA Europe, CNPP participates actively in this work. Guillaume Savornin, CEO of CNPP, also serves as Vice-President of CFPA Europe, highlighting CNPP’s involvement in this international cooperation dynamic.
A Week Structured Around Technical Committees
From 18 to 21 March, several technical committees met at the CNPP Vernon facilities
Security Commission (SC)
The week began with the Security Commission, which focused on general security issues and the development of the Security Guidelines. These recommendations cover diverse topics ranging from cybersecurity for SMEs to the protection of empty buildings and the evacuation of artworks in emergencies.
The Training Commission (TC) and the Fire Safety Commission (FSC)
The Training Commission worked on training in safety, risk management, fire safety and fire protection. With 46 courses offered, this commission ensures the harmonization of educational content while respecting the national regulations of each member country. of educational content while respecting the national regulations of each member country.
The Fire Safety Commission focused on prevention and protection against fires, developing guidelines such as the management of fire protection systems, fire safety in restaurants, and safety distances between waste containers and buildings.
Natural Hazards Commission (NHC) and Marketing & Information Commission (MIC)
The Natural Hazards Commission discussed challenges posed by natural risks such as floods, hail, and wildfires. It develops recommendations for protection against these phenomena and for the management of extreme weather conditions.
The Marketing & Information Commission, responsible for CFPA-Europe’s communication, manages the website, newsletter and dissemination of articles for Ambassadors. This commission plays a key role in the visibility and distribution of the organization’s work.
Management Commission (MC)
To conclude the week, the Management Commission brought together the presidents of each committee as well as the CFPA-Europe leadership. This meeting reviewed ongoing work and established the organisation’s main strategic orientations.
Immersion at CNPP’s Technical Facilities
In parallel with the meetings, a visit to CNPP’s technical platform took place on Thursday morning. This immersion offered participants the opportunity to discover the infrastructures and test facilities implemented for risk prevention research and training. During this visit, professionals explored the new crisis management center, the hydrogen platform to raise awareness and train on hydrogen-related risks, as well as a hall dedicated to fire cause and circumstance investigation (RCCI). They also visited the mechanical protection laboratories, illustrating CNPP’s technical expertise.
An International Event at the Heart of CNPP
CNPP welcomed about 30 participants from around 15 nationalities. This event provided an opportunity to intensify exchanges between experts and to strengthen European cooperation in safety and risk prevention. The program also included convivial moments, including an official dinner on Wednesday 19 March, sponsored by CFPA Europe, and another dinner on Thursday evening for participants from the Management Commission.
CNPP Serving Risk Prevention
By hosting CFPA Week, CNPP reaffirmed its commitment to risk prevention and safety. This event was a unique opportunity to share expertise and enrich discussions at the European level. The entire CNPP team contributed to ensuring the successful running of this event and offering participants a warm welcome. A week rich in exchanges and advances for risk prevention in Europe !
